I don’t do well in hot weather. “I’m hot!” is a frequent complaint, to which K replies, “Yes you are!”
Tonight was one such night. When faced with the prospect of “It’s too Darn Hot,” K came up with a solution. He had me strip and lie under the ceiling fan over our bed. Then he rubbed a cool, wet washcloth over my skin repeatedly until I felt cool.
Evaporation is a wonderful thing. Especially since it was no longer too darn hot.
After the long day of working at the polls, and rushing around to get everything back quickly wore me out! I really wanted ice cream and a delightful adult beverage. I peeked to see if Scoops was in the Kohl’s lot, and it was! I went to get a scoop for myself and one for Keith, but the nice Scoops man stopped me. He said K had already bought me a scoop and it was waiting for me at home! I did buy the new Scoops bumper sticker, though.
At home, K brought me my scoop of Taro ice cream, and made me a Lemon Drop. Ah, it was good.
I worked at a polling place today. K stopped by late afternoon with the sun-viewing filter, so all of my poll clerks, any voters who wished, and myself could look at Venus passing in front of the sun. I wouldn’t have seen it otherwise.
